The name Doge, pronounced with a long “O” and soft “G”, is the proper title of the historical rulers of the Republic of Venezia (Venice, Italy). The first property manager was the founder’s uncle, a much loved Erie community figure and firefighter, David Lojewski. Some tenants will never forget that at times David would show up to collect their rent in a fire truck bringing a bit of excitement to a quiet neighborhood. When it came to property management and repairs Dave was a true MacGyver and could do just about anything. He was an extraordinary man. David passed away in 2006 and though not with us today, he is always in our hearts and on our minds.
